NVTRP Summer Camps
Come join NVTRP for a week-long camp!
Each week of camp is different so please read the descriptions below, then register at the bottom of the page. If your child does not fit into the age range of the camp that you are interested in, please contact Tessa Hassett (thassett@nvtrp.org) to see if we can make an accommodation.
Payment is due at the time of registration. If camp is full, you can add yourself to the waitlist below.
Please note: As of February 2022, NVTRP's policy is that everyone wear a mask when not socially distanced.
Therapeutic Camps
Ponies and Paintbrushes Therapeutic Camp: July 18-22, Monday-Friday 9:00am-1:00pm
- Ages 5-14
- Riding level: Beginner to intermediate riders who may require volunteer assistance to ride.
- Requirements: Children must be able to eat and use the restroom independently.
- Each day of camp includes a riding lesson, farm activity, art project and lunch break. Camp staff are specially-trained to provide a supporting, fun, and enriching camp day. This camp is designed to utilize a creative outlet where campers can explore self-expression and learn new coping skills.
Saddles and Sun Therapeutic Camp: July 25-29, Monday-Friday 9:00am-1:00pm
- Ages 10 & up
- Riding level: Beginner to intermediate riders who may require volunteer assistance to ride.
- Requirements: Children must be able to eat and use the restroom independently.
- Each day of camp includes a riding lesson, horsemanship, camp activity and lunch break. Camp staff are specially-trained to provide a supporting, fun, and enriching camp day. This camp is designed to foster self confidence, communication and social skills for students with learning differences. Riders will get a little dirty, play inside and out, and create lasting memories.
Community Camps
Learn to Ride Community Camp: July 11-15, Monday-Friday 9:00am-1:00pm
- Ages 6-12
- Riding level: Beginner to intermediate. Riders should be able to ride with a maximum of 1 volunteer assisting.
- Each day of camp includes a riding lesson, horsemanship, camp activity and lunch break. Each day campers will be assigned a horse to groom, tack and ride, as well as participate in a variety of activities tied to a daily theme. Riders will get a little dirty, play inside and out, and create lasting memories.
Junior Equestrian Community Camp: August 1-5, Monday-Friday 9:00am-1:00pm
- Ages 8-14
- Riding level: Intermediate and above. Riders must be able to trot multiple laps independently and ride without volunteer assistance.
- Each day of camp includes a riding lesson, horsemanship, camp activity and lunch break. Each day campers will be assigned a horse to groom, tack and ride, as well as participate in a variety of activities tied to a daily theme. Riders will get a little dirty, play inside and out, and create lasting memories.
Inclusive Camp (individuals with and without disabilities)
"A Horse of My Own" Inclusive Camp: August 8-12, Monday-Friday 9:00am-1:00pm
- Ages 12-25
- Riding level: Intermediate and above. Riders should be able to trot without volunteer assistance.
- Each day of camp includes a riding lesson, horsemanship, camp activity and lunch break. Campers will discover their unique talents in a week-long day camp. Camp staff are specially-trained to provide a supporting, fun, and enriching camp day for children and young adults with or without disabilities. This camp is designed to foster a deeper relationship with horses. This camp is inclusive, siblings and friends are welcome!
